In today’s digital age, Xbox games offer immersive experiences that require more data storage. If you find yourself running out of space, follow these steps to create additional room for saving your gaming progress and downloading new content.

Check Available Storage
First, let’s determine how much storage is currently being used and what’s left on your Xbox.Press the Xbox button on your controller >
[Profile & system] >
[Settings] >
[General] >
[Storage]. Here you can see the total amount of storage and the used vs. available space.

Delete Unwanted Items
If your Xbox is nearing its capacity, consider removing unwanted games, apps, or add-ons that are taking up valuable space.Press the Xbox button >
[My games & apps] > [See all], then select an item and press the "X" button to manage storage options, including deleting the content or moving it to an external drive.

Move Games and Apps
If you have an external hard drive, consider moving games and apps from your internal storage to free up space.Connect the external drive to your Xbox, then press the Xbox button >
[My games & apps] > [See all], select an item, and move it to the external drive using the "X" button. Keep in mind that you may need a separate subscription for some online features if you move games between drives.

Game updates can take up significant storage space. Set your preferences under[Settings] >
[General] >
[Background downloads and installs] to only download and install updates when you’re at home, or manually check for and install them as needed.

Utilize Cloud Saves
Cloud saves offer an alternative way to store game progress. Enable this feature in[Settings] >
[Save & upload] > [Power My Savings]. This will automatically save your games to the cloud and free up space on your console. Keep in mind that a paid Xbox Live Gold membership is required for cloud saves.
